DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, March 21 at 6pm to celebrate the opening of Unique Perspectives featuring works by Carole Bolsey\, Gints Grinbergs\, and Kelly Russo. Please RSVP here. \nThis exhibition brings together three makers with strong and distinctive artistic voices\, offering visitors opportunities to reflect on the artistic process as they take in diverse works. \nCarole Bolsey paints large. Her canvases regularly measure over 5 feet and can be upwards of 14 feet. The evocative shapes of boats and barns are the subjects on display at the gallery. Used by ancient and modern civilizations\, these shapes transcend time and culture. Carole depicts these structures amidst an abstracted ground\, inviting the viewer to fill in the dots and transcribe their own memories and connections into the composition. Carole has taught painting at the DeCordova\, Harvard University\, and RISD. She lives and paints in Kingston\, MA. \nGints Grinbergs is a collector. He scours metal yards for cast-o? pieces of steel to create his sculptures. Botanicals\, boats\, and sunbursts made of stainless steel will be on display. Inspired by nature’s geometry\, Gints combines dozens of metal circles to compose a branch of apple blossoms. His works are either free-standing or sit atop stone bases. Large-scale installations by Gints can be found at the Duxbury Free Library and Union Point in Weymouth. Gints lives and works in Dedham\, MA. \nKelly Russo’s intuitive abstract paintings are bright and dynamic. A mother of four and artist\, her paintings depict a balance of color\, shape\, and action that symbolize the organized chaos of daily life. Leaning towards the landscape\, her colorful paintings will be a welcome addition to the Gallery as the environment around us wakes up for spring. Kelly is a member of the South Shore Art Center\, the Cambridge Art Association\, and the Copley Society of Art. She lives and works in Scituate\, MA. \nSavage Godfrey Gallery is located at 693 Main Street\, Norwell\, MA. The Gallery shares a building and entrance with Coastal Chic Interiors. Gallery hours are Tuesdays 12 to 4 pm\, Wednesday through Friday from 10 to 4 pm or by appointment.b \n

Artists are allowed 20 pieces and should be dropped off during designated drop off dates.  \n\n\nArtists may submit up to 20 pieces of work – framed or unframed.\n$25 entry fee\nA label MUST be placed on the back of each piece stating: title\, name\, price and corresponding item # on your inventory form.\nFor each piece sold\, members will receive 70%\nCommission check will be mailed to the artist as soon after the Festival as possible.\nArtwork drop off is May 10\, 10am-12pm OR May 12\, 6-8pm.\nArtwork pick up dates (unsold work) Saturday May 31\, 10am-12pm OR Monday June 2\, 6-8pm.\n\n\nRequirements: \n\n\nMust be a NRAS Member\nUp to 20 pieces of original artwork or prints\nProvide an inventory list of your work using the document HERE. (Can be dropped off with work at drop off dates)\nMust provide your own bin. Ideally wooden\, wicker\, metal\, or other nice bins. Plastic bins are OK but please no laundry baskets. Remember that the presentation of your work will be beneficial to sales. We recommend using cardboard dividers or plastic sleeves for works that may scratch or smudge.\nMust drop off your work during designated drop off dates and work must be picked up on designated pick up dates. DESCRIPTION:2025 Festival of the Arts\nJuried Artisans and Crafts\n\n\n\n\nThe 48th Annual Festival of the Arts will be held on Memorial Day weekend\, May 24 and 25\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. \nNorth River Arts Society is now accepting applications from artisans who would like to participate in the Juried Artisans Show. Due to space constraints\, a limited number of Artisans will be accepted. Previous participation does not guarantee a booth space in this year’s show.  \nApplication Fee Due upon application entry: $25 (please note we have decided to reduce the application fee this year and instead add the difference to the booth fee so you are paying less to apply) \nNote: Application Fee is non-refundable. Booth Fee will be charged upon acceptance; unaccepted applicants will not be charged booth fees. \nBooth Fee Due upon acceptance into Festival: $205 Members/ $275 Nonmembers\nYou can join or renew your membership at NorthRiverArts.org/Join. Booth sites will be assigned upon acceptance to the Juried Artisans Show. Each space is 10 feet by 10 feet\, set up on grass. Artisans must supply and set up their own tents with weights\, tables\, chairs and displays. Displays may be left overnight if secured under a tent. NRAS is not responsible for loss or damage. Street parking available or parking and shuttle buses from Eames Way School. \nBooth Set-Up: Friday 5/23 12pm – 5pm and/or Saturday 5/24 beginning at 7:30am. Note that the Festival opens to the public at 10am. The Festival closes at 5pm on Sunday 5/26.
