The hotel is a tourist and business destination with great exposure for the show. \nELIGIBILITY \n\n  Artists living in Hull and the surrounding region are eligible to submit entries\, provided they can pick up and drop off their work.\n  Only art that has not previously been hung in a Juried Hull Artists Show at the Resort may be entered.\n  Only art that can be hung on walls is permitted for this exhibit. Mediums may include drawings\, paintings\, photographs\, mixed media\, printmaking\, fiber art\, or other 2-dimensional pieces.\nENTRY\n\n\nMembers of Hull Artists receive a discount on their entry fee and commission rate. Artists may join or renew Hull Artists online at: HullArtists.com/Join\nMembers are those whose membership expires July 1\, 2022\, or later.\nThe deadline for submitting entries is midnight\, Friday\, April 15th.\nEntries should be submitted online at EntryThingy.com. SUMMARY:Light & Process
DESCRIPTION:Artist’s Statement – STILL LIFE\nIn my studio are southwest facing windows. The light streams in at varying angles during the course of the year and I am mesmerized by the way it transforms whatever it hits to make it exceptional. The objects and space change each minute the level of light moves across the plane. I find myself intensely observing and absorbing the changes as if I were watching a movie. At times\, all I can do is stand in intense study and watch the light work its magic—all of the sudden hours have passed. \nIn my process\, I am struck by a particular subject—Light and the way it affects objects\, Light as it hits a sur- face and moves across it\, the color of Light. I study the motif through drawings and paintings to see where it leads. Working in series helps me explore subtle elements in the composition. I am constantly questioning what I am seeing and doing. The work develops through reworking\, redrawing\, turning the substrate I am working on and imposing images on top\, scraping\, sanding\, adding and subtracting media. Through this process\, they reveal a history of the workings\, as in a palimpsest. I try not to hold anything precious. \n\nArtist Bio\nKim Alemian was born in Spokane\, WA. Her formative years were spent in Hong Kong\, Thailand\, West Germany and Scituate\, MA. She currently lives with her husband in Cohasset\, MA. \nAlemian’s oil paintings are represented by The Cove Gallery—Wellfleet\, MA\, Edgewater Gallery—MIiddlebury\, VT and Boston\, MA and Gardner Colby Gallery—Naples\, FL. Her work has been shown both nationally and in- ternationally including the Netherlands and Israel and is collected both privately and in corporate settings. She was featured in the publication “100 Boston Painters” by Chawky Frenn\, Schiffer Publishing. Her work has been reviewed in printed publications and online. \nShe has a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from the College of Fine Arts\, School of Visual Arts at Boston University with Post Graduate studies at New York Studio School of Drawing\, Painting and Sculpture. \nAlemian works as an artist and also at South Shore Art Center as Graphic Designer/Webmaster/ Artistic Curator. DESCRIPTION:The Featured Artist for the Months of January and February at Duxbury Free Library is\, Patricia Bossange\nArtist’s Statement\nI am a painter and a musician who possesses two degrees in English literature. In trying to piece together how these disparate elements influence my art\, I realize I have always wanted to be part of something beautiful and add to the dialogue of creativity. When I think about why I paint what I paint\, I realize that whether I am painting a landscape or a portrait of my daughter\, I am really just attempting to paint light and the passage of time\, and their effects on the people and objects in my life. It is a perpetual challenge – what could be more difficult and elusive than capturing a trick of light\, or a moment in time? \nThus\, I am always striving to improve – which is why I study with the amazing Carol O’Malia (omalia.com). \nI am currently focusing on oil painting but I also work in various other media such as acrylics\, pastel\, ink\, and pencil\, as well as collages with made with strips of paper. \nI sell my work via my website\, patriciabossange.com and by commission. DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars! The Duxbury Art Association’s 48th annual Craft Showcase and Sale is back this year and will be held on Saturday and Sunday\, November 20 & 21 at the Duxbury High School. \nThis fun event transforms the Duxbury High School into an artisan mall for the weekend\, and it’s a great way to kick off your holiday shopping. For a small admission fee at the door\, guests are welcome to shop all weekend (readmission is included with paid ticket)\, and kids 12 & under are admitted free.  \nA wide range of hand crafted items are featured for sale including jewelry\, unique fashion\, hand-blown glass\, ceramics\, carved wood\, photography\, soaps/herbals\, gourmet edibles\, home decor\, and much more. SUMMARY:Plymouth Art on the Green
DESCRIPTION:Free and open to the public\, the Plymouth Art on the Green Art Fair will showcase the work of local artists in a variety of mediums\, including ceramics\, painting\, sculpture and more. In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase\, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. This event will follow all socially distancing protocols to protect shoppers and vendors a like. Masks must be worn (properly lets cover up those noses people) while shopping in the vendor area.
