I am a painter and a musician who possesses two degrees in English literature. In trying to piece together how these disparate elements influence my art, I realize I have always wanted to be part of something beautiful and add to the dialogue of creativity. When I think about why I paint what I paint, I realize that whether I am painting a landscape or a portrait of my daughter, I am really just attempting to paint light and the passage of time, and their effects on the people and objects in my life. It is a perpetual challenge – what could be more difficult and elusive than capturing a trick of light, or a moment in time?
Thus, I am always striving to improve – which is why I study with the amazing Carol O’Malia (omalia.com).
I am currently focusing on oil painting but I also work in various other media such as acrylics, pastel, ink, and pencil, as well as collages with made with strips of paper.
I sell my work via my website, patriciabossange.com and by commission. Contact: pbossange@gmail.com.
