Sally Dean
From Marshfield, MA
Sally Dean is a Marshfield, Massachusetts artist with her roots firmly planted in the arts. With an artful lineage as far back as her grandmother’s fashion illustration and furniture painting days, Sally has taken creative pursuits to new heights by exploring numerous mediums – from acrylics to watercolors, printmaking, mixed media, to mosaics, and sculpture! She loves all things colorful & whimsical while taking advantage of the natural beauty around her on the south shore of Massachusetts. Sally has created several public murals in the past few years with Scituate artist Cathy McCarthy. Every year, together with Scituate artist Michelle Levesque, Sally creates large papier mache parade puppets of her own as well as with all ages of the community. North River Arts Festival has an all-inclusive puppet parade every year that features these puppets, and many more that have been created in the past. Most recently at North River Arts Sally was awarded the Carolyn Harvey Memorial award of Creativity, Sally pursued formal education at both The School Of Museum Fine Arts in Boston and Tufts University before graduating in 1981. It’s an honor to see Sally’s inspiring passion for self-expression which continues today!
