Artist Statement:

“The relationship between light and shadow has always been an important part of my painting. Capturing the shape of a shadow or the subtle change in a tone can bring an image to life. Negative space and the changes created by light are what form the composition. Reflections are another aspect of this relationship and can be found throughout nature and in everyday objects. My eye has always been drawn to the distorted or nearly mirror-like effect of the optical illusions. “
