Kriss Brennen
From Duxbury, MA
“Framing has been the frosting on the cake, seeing my work in a beautiful space with such perfect frames. I really believe what the FC is doing for artists of the South Shore can be compared to the Medici’s of the Renaissance.”
– Kriss Brennen
Kriss Brennen lives in a world of art, which is exactly where she wants to be—whether searching for stones or carving them. She sees possibilities within each piece of stone and works to accentuate what she discovers, sometimes revealing a frog, other times shaping a bench. When the weather keeps her indoors, she turns to painting, often capturing the beauty of rocks, an unexpected but fitting subject.

In Episode 72 of Inside the Frame, Kriss Brennen joins Dave ahead of her upcoming solo exhibition at the Frame Center Gallery, on display from February 13, 2026 through April 4, 2026. Dave and Kriss reminisce about how they first met in the late 1990s while taking adult education classes at the Museum School in Boston, as well as Kriss’s time working at Frame Center before transitioning into landscaping and stonework. What began as a creative foundation in painting has evolved into a dynamic career that blends fine art with large-scale, functional sculpture.
