Helen Bumpus Gallery
The Helen Bumpus Gallery, located within the Duxbury Free Library, has been an active part of the local arts community for more than 50 years. The gallery provides a respected exhibition space for regional artists interested in showcasing two-dimensional artwork and connecting with the South Shore arts community.
Artists working in the following mediums are welcome to apply: acrylic, digital art, drawing, encaustic, fiber, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, printmaking, water media, and wood. At this time, the gallery is unable to accommodate sculpture, film, or video exhibitions.
Exhibition Details
- Exhibitions run for two months.
- Artists receive 60% of sales generated during their exhibition, with the gallery receiving 40%.
- Artwork is covered under the Helen Bumpus Gallery’s insurance policy beginning at 10:15 a.m. on the day of installation and through noon on the day the exhibition is dismantled.
- Current and past exhibitions can be viewed through the gallery’s website.
The Helen Bumpus Gallery has welcomed artists whose work has been exhibited with organizations including the Art Complex Museum, Duxbury Art Association, Griffin Museum of Photography, North River Arts Society, Scituate Arts Association, South Shore Art Center, and others.
