Artist Statement
My painting is a reflection of my efforts to make something beautiful from a chaotic, confusing and often insecure 30 years as a military wife and stay at home mother.

I use words layered with translucent color to symbolize the calls I have always heard to return to art; the imposed self-criticism for letting painting go for so long; the insecurity I feel returning to it.I want the viewer to see a beautiful painting but continue to look deeper – to really see how my work is composed through courses of words, color and personal autobiography.

My life has had many layers – many good, colorful layers and experiences that has made me into who I am today, an artist returning to herself.

About the artist
Christine is an artist working in her chosen home of Duxbury, Massachusetts. She is a life-long artist with a degree in graphic design and illustration who enjoys using her classical training to create paintings that push color and illuminate the subconscious. Christine considers herself one of the lucky ones – among her greatest joys is the love for her husband, EJ, her grown and accomplished daughters Meaghan and Lauren as well as her delightful Havanese, Pippa.
